TECA has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 TennComm Conference scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 23 – Friday, Sept. 25 at the Big Cypress Lodge in Memphis, Tenn.
Two important factors contributed to this decision:
TECA, along with our partners at the Big Cypress Lodge, feel that it is important to abide by the guidelines set by state and public health officials. Currently, these guidelines require additional space that is simply not available at the hotel.
More importantly, TECA recognizes the critical service that co-op employees provide to their communities. We believe that it would not be prudent to ask co-op employees to participate in an in-person conference given the current case count in Memphis and Shelby County.
We requested that the hotel cancel all reservations that are a part of our rooming block, but we suggest that you reach out to the hotel to confirm that your reservation has been cancelled.
Education and training opportunities are important to your co-op and to you individually. TECA continues to evaluate options to provide networking opportunities and educational content to employees filling important communication, marketing and member service functions at their co-op.
